Two Men Arrested For Alleged Sheep Theft in Mthatha

MTHATHA- Two men, aged 27 and 28, were arrested by the OR Tambo district police on Saturday night for allegedly stealing six sheep and their lambs from Dosi village, Mthatha.

The police operation, known as “Operation Shanela,” led to the arrest of the suspects after they were found in possession of the stolen livestock in a Nissan Hardbody vehicle.

The police spokesperson, Captain Welile Matyolo, confirmed the arrest, saying, “I can confirm that we have arrested the two suspects and they will appear in court in a few days.”

The suspects are expected to face charges related to stock theft and the police are commending the community for their vigilance in reporting the incident. The case is under investigation and further details will be released as the matter unfolds.
