MOTHER FACES CHARGES AFTER TRANSPORTING CHILD’S BODY IN A SUITCASE

BIZANA- A 32-year-old mother from Mzamba is set to make her first court appearance at the Mbizana Magistrate’s Court following the startling discovery of her three-year-old daughter’s lifeless body.

The woman was apprehended by police after allegedly traveling with the child’s corpse in a suitcase, a journey spanning approximately 30 kilometers from Mzamba to the Mbizana Police Station.

According to Provincial police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli, the harrowing incident unfolded when the mother purportedly left her daughter unattended at their residence in Mzamba on May 18.

Reports suggest she departed to visit her boyfriend, only to return the following day to a heartbreaking scene – the child lying unresponsive near the door.

Rather than immediately seeking medical or police assistance, the mother is said to have resorted to concealing the toddler’s body in a suitcase before embarking on a distressing journey to the police station.

It was there that she reported the death of her daughter, leading to her subsequent arrest.

Scheduled to face the courts on charges of child neglect, defeating the ends of justice, and culpable homicide, the mother finds herself at the center of a deeply troubling case that has shocked the local community.

As the investigation continues to unravel the details surrounding this heartbreaking incident, all eyes are on the upcoming court proceedings at the Mbizana Magistrate’s Court.
