G20 activation in the Eastern Cape
The Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) in the Eastern Cape hosted a G20 activation event at the Qonce taxi rank on 17 November 2025. Stakeholders, including the IEC and Bumb’Ingomso, were present to ensure that citizens were registered and informed about their designated voting stations.

As the country approaches the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, Bumb’Ingomso emphasized the importance of speaking out against abuse, given the nation’s ongoing struggle with GBV.
Nandipha Sondati-Thawa from GCIS explained that the activation was part of a nationwide effort to raise awareness about the upcoming summit scheduled for 22-23 November 2025 and to highlight South Africa’s role in the G20.
