EASTERN CAPE GOVERNMENT PARTNERS WITH YAEI AND ABSA BANK TO EMPOWER YOUTH ENTREPRENEURS

BUTTERWORTH- The Eastern Cape Provincial Government has joined forces with the Young African Entrepreneurs Institute (YAEI) and Absa Bank to support local youth entrepreneurs.

A successful Entrepreneurship Financial Inclusion Symposium was recently held at Walter Sisulu University (WSU), Butterworth Campus, where 30 young entrepreneurs pitched their business ideas in a competition.

Three winners were awarded R100,000 each from Absa Bank to kickstart their ventures in 2025.

The Eastern Cape Government is dedicated to fostering job creation and encouraging youth entrepreneurship through various initiatives, such as the Isiqalo Youth Fund and collaborations with education institutions and the private sector.

MEC Nonkqubela Pieters highlighted the importance of promoting financial inclusion and entrepreneurship among the youth to provide multiple pathways for economic participation.

This strategic partnership between the Eastern Cape Government, YAEI, and Absa Bank signals a significant move towards alleviating youth unemployment in the province by offering funding, skills training, and entrepreneurship support.
