Two female students found dead

A horrific incident has shaken the community of Kariega in Khayelitsha where the bodies of two female students were discovered on 18 June 2025.

According to reports from residents, the girls were students at Nkululeko Secondary School in Kwanobuhle and were believed to have attended a Youth Day celebration.

The South African Police Service(SAPS) in the Eastern Cape has confirmed that an investigation team has been launched to look into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

A police statement revealed that the bodies were found at approximately 8:35 a.m. in the woods on 4th Avenue.

The victims, aged between 17 and 19 have not been named pending formal identification. Authorities are working to piece together the events leading up to their deaths, with investigators examining the scene for any clues.

The police are appealing for any information that may assist in their investigation. As the community grapples with this tragic event, the police are working tirelessly to bring clarity and justice to the families of the victims.
