SWIFT POLICE ACTION LEADE TO ARREST OF SUSPECTS IN GQEBERHA
GQEBERHA- In a quick and decisive operation, members of the South African Police Service in Kwadwesi, Gqeberha, sprang into action in the early hours of Saturday, April 19, 2025.
Thanks to their rapid response, two suspects have been apprehended, a firearm with ammunition has been seized and stolen property linked to house robbery cases has been recovered.
The incident unfolded around midnight when six unidentified suspects forcefully entered a residence on Gumede Street, Kwadwesi Extension.
Armed with weapons, they threatened the occupants and made off with valuable items, including a vehicle, electronics, and cash.
Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg of the SAPS reports, “Our officers acted swiftly upon receiving information, leading to the interception of the suspects in a red Hyundai vehicle. A confrontation ensued, resulting in the apprehension of two suspects, aged 20 and 30, who sustained injuries. The suspects will face charges in court soon.”
Following the arrest, a thorough search of the vehicle and multiple properties led to the recovery of stolen goods, including those taken during the robbery on Gumede Street.
Major General Vuyisile Ncata praised the officers involved, stating, “The dedication and professionalism displayed by our officers are instrumental in ensuring the safety and security of our community.”
