SASSA COMMENDS SARB DECISION TO EXTEND USE OF GOLD CARD

SOUTH AFRICA- The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has applauded the recent decision made by the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) to permit the continued use of the beloved SASSA gold card.

This decision ensures that beneficiaries can still rely on their gold cards until all transitions to the new Postbank black card are smoothly completed.

Following productive discussions between SASSA and Postbank on various important matters, including providing alternative payment options for beneficiaries yet to make the switch to the black card, this decision was reached with the well-being of all beneficiaries in mind.

Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Themba Matlou, expressed his support for the decision, emphasizing the importance of beneficiary dignity, peace of mind, and easy access to grants.

Mr. Matlou urged all gold card holders not to delay in swapping their cards for the new Postbank black card, stating, “We humbly plea to our beneficiaries to use this opportunity and not wait for the last hour as this will further inconvenience them.”

The move has been warmly received by beneficiaries, ensuring a smoother transition while addressing their concerns.

Stay tuned as SASSA continues to prioritize beneficiary needs and security in the journey towards enhanced financial empowerment.
